Things I draw that is found around work

Sooooo.  It's been a while.   Rather than draw new things, I present you Things I draw at work.

I often  draw really random things and leave them for people or draw signs for people to see, to make things interesting.  These are some of my work found at my workplace.

Things I've drawn for my boss:
I was going for the "Apple for a teacher"-kinda thing but I was too cheap to buy an apple so I disguised an avocado as an apple.  The avocado is no longer, but the shell  is still in existence.

Conventional Zombies are boring.  It's all about the zombie parrots and pug harpies who walk their pets of flying munchkin kitty and flying scotties

My boss went on a vacation and people kept on asking about her, so I drew this and posted it on her chair.  Miss someone? Draw them.
Signs I drew:
I was hoping to grab people's attention.  I think a creepy girl with crazy eyes, creepy smile and creepily long neck would definitely get people's attention.

...There was more to this sign....It got cut up into pieces and this is the only piece I see around now.  If you look carefully, it's like the Terminator is scanning his ID in.

Random things I drew:
I was bored one day at work and I wanted to draw an epic dragon to protect that spanned across the whole counter.   It didn't even go halfway across before I was, "Ugh, fuckit. Taping paper is so hard."

A random dragon, a random goat, and leaping cat.  I don't even know.

I don't even know...I guess zombies and spoon-armed...monster?
I....am speechless.  I don't really know anymore.

Whiteboards are fun.  Pet dragons are cool. So are random animals. You cannot convince me otherwise.
Things I've drawn for people:
My coworker as mythical creatures, manticore and the scorpian king.  They didn't accept my gift.

My cute and adorable regular wanted a Donald Duck drawing....so this is what I whipped out as a reward for her hard work.

Things unrelated to Work:
Sometimes I like to personify gift bags and this was one of  those times.
Done with Copic Markers and prismacolor pencils

Doodle this Deedle -- part 2, I guess?

I  haven't been doing as much of the Doodle this Deedle Blog daily doodles as I would like and I missed a lot of fun doodles themes.  It's okay, I might go back and do some when I have time or bored.

My name is Rie.  I have a problem.  I buy art supplies that I really don't need.
So when the art store had a sale, I bought FW inks: Marine Blue and Burnt Umber.  To be honest, the Marine Blue wasn't as blue as I wanted but I still found it very lovely.

One  Daily Doodle was to: Draw something that makes you happy!
I have an unhealthy obsession for a former Takarazuka actress, Haurno Sumire, who was the top star for Flower troupe from 2002 to 2007/8.  Her singing is magical.
:
To me, Haruno Sumire is a goddess.  True goddesses are hard to draw.  That's what I keep on telling myself ...as an excuse for not being able to capture her full loveliness.

This was fun one to do. The theme was to draw a Puke Fairy.  At first I was going to draw something gross. and anorexic, but I realized that I didn't really want to draw gross. Then I had an urge to a womanly woman. Rather, I drew this fairy who is a matronly English lady who helps you puke, and then give you tea and biscuits  She is fully equipped with a face mask and a puke bucket.
Yupe, drawn in coffee and Marine Blue FW ink .

Doodle this Deedle Doodles

There is this great blog on Tumblr called A Doodle a Day keeps the Deedles Away!
I love this blog.  I found out about this blog through one of its amazing artists.  Their doodle themes are my kind of random.  I think it's fantastic and it's great practice for my illustration sketchbook.
Here are the doodles I've done in the past week:
Draw your crush as a mermaid/merman. Yeah, that's right. I totally crushin' Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes.

The people of the DoodlethisDeedle have a cat called Doodly Boots.  The doodle theme was to draw Doodly Boots going to prom.  This was a fun theme.
Draw yourself in a Zombie Apocalypse.  I didn't actually submit this to the DoodlethisDeedle blog because it was a few days late...

Draw a chicken wearing a hat. I don't know, I just wanted to draw a fabulous hat.  Welp, I think it's fabulous.

I used copic markers, because well, I WANTED TO USE THEM. DON'T JUDGE ME.

Hello Recycle Bin, Or Not

Today we were cleaning out our bookshelf and I found a secret folder nudged behind the bookshelf.
And the secret folder contained these lovelies( or not) from about 1~2 years ago:
...and I didn't have the urge to throw them out!!  Shocking!

Okay, allow me to explain why this might be a shocker.
Plain and Blunt: I have an habit of throwing away my drawings/art work.  It's just an habit that developed from childhood.  It relieves stress/frustration for me.  Some people drink alcohol. Some people punch their pillows.  Me? I like to ceremoniously throw out piles and piles of my drawings/doodle/art.  I'll sometimes scrummage my room for doodles I can throw out, and I have a folder of doodles for whenever I have the urge to meet with the Recycle Bin. I also think that my style changes rather often so after more than a year, I can't stand looking at my older stuff; hence therefore (goody, a redundancy) I like to symbolically murder my older atrocities.
But these?  They're kind of nice, especially because I actually like this style but I don't draw in this style very often these days and I don't have patience for this kind of detail...

...and LOOK!  The right sketch has a COFFEE STAIN on the right hand corner! Very fitting for this blog, don't you think?

Hoping for a Hero...and then some doodles

Some real-life tragedies seriously makes me wish Batman was real.

On a non-tragic note, I like to doodle while watching TV shows/movies.  I've been watching Jeremy Brett's version of Sherlock Holmes series and I made a little game of drawing things/person my eyes falls on, without pausing the show.

This game proved to be a bit challenging and I haven't played it ever since.

Undeniably, I haven't been practicing as much as when I was taking art classes.  On the other hand, I try to make a conscious effort to carry around a sketchbook and sketch people I see.  The people I sketch are mostly people I see at work and the people at work usually looking down...

Someday, SOME DAY, I WILL be able to draw and capture real people's likeness.
Just practice,practice, and practice....

LE SIGH.
I WILL PERSEVERE.

....I hope.
